The Author bought the hybrid in 2011, from Iztok Mulej, who crossed Huernia blyderiverensis and Huernia zebrina in July of 1997. Mr. Mulej is the local representative of the International Asclepiad Society. H. zebrina is one of the most known members of its genus, whereas H. blyderiverensis is nown today as H. quinta var. blyderiverensis, also developing spotted flowers, the density of spots differ, however, on each plant. Based on the information of Mr. Mulej, the original pollen plant was more spotted than that of published in the article. The hybrid stays between the two parent species in their flowers: the lobes resemble the seed parent whereas in the coloure of the crown the colour of the pollen parent is dominant.
